Choirs to hold annual benefit dinner, auctions, and dancing
This European-themed evening begins with Raffles and Silent Auction, to be followed by a savory dinner prepared by Roots Catering, a live auction, performances by Bella Voce, Bel Canto, & Cantiamo, and dancing to the music of “Jazzuppa”. Proceeds of the event will benefit Children’s Choir of Chico by providing scholarships, covering the costs of concerts, and purchasing music for the more than 100 singers who participate in the various ensembles.
The non-profit Children’s Choir of Chico builds character and choral music education for interested singers in Pre-Kindergarten through adult women, including singers from Chico, Forest Ranch, Berry Creek, Orland, Oroville, Bangor, Paradise, Artois, and Durham. Through active rehearsals, participating singers learn about diverse cultures through the music of many lands, various styles, and a variety of musical styles. Each year, the choirs actively perform for various community events and organizations. Advanced singers in the choirs audition annually and are accepted into national honor choirs.
