Children’s Choir of Chico opens its 15th concert season with a musical collage showcasing its choirs performing songs of joy and celebration in honor of 15 harmonious years!
This afternoon concert will begin with a performance of “Feel Good”, an exhilarating contemporary gospel composed by Tyson & Scott. American folksongs will delight the audience as singers perform in much the same manner as would have happened in the 1800’s, complete with folk dance moves.
Selections composed by Gabriel Fauré, Valerie Webdell, Jim Papoulis and Randall Thompson will bring a depth of artistic performance to listeners. Songs of celebration and inspiration from Ghana, West Africa, Israel, Mexico and the USA will create a light, family‐friendly afternoon of music making.
Come prepared to enjoy a pleasing blend of voices from the youngest singers in the training choirs -‐ “Ready, Set, Sing!” (K & 1st grade) and the “Preparatory Choir” (2nd & 3rd grades), to the more developed voices and advanced repertoire of the touring choirs -‐ “Cantiamo” and “Bel Canto”, and the CCOC women’s choir “Bella Voce”. Singers include residents of Chico, Durham, Paradise, Oroville, Forest Ranch, Orland, Berry Creek, and Bangor.
Tickets are $10 for adults and $7 for children 2-‐10 years as well as senior citizens. Advance tickets can be purchased from Children’s Choir of Chico singers or through the CCOC Office. Please call 342‐2775 for more information.
